Home Care

Independent and Assisted Living may not be right for everyone. Many have had the advance thought to purchase Long Term Care Insurance, have the means to afford home care or just need skilled services such as nursing care, physical therapy or occupational therapy.

For those, home care or home health care may be the answer. As a caregiver, you may need a helping hand from time to time at home. Home Care is there to assist you with private duty staff who are able to provide personal care or sitter service for your loved-one. A watchful eye while you go shopping or are at work, they may provide transportation to medical appointments and much, much more. These services are generally provided on an hourly fee basis.

When a loved-one requires skilled services (skilled nursing, physical, occupational or speech therapy), Home Health companies are there to help. When ordered by a physician, home care is covered by private insurance and Medicare. Service is provided on an intermittent basis, with the clinician making home visits on a scheduled basis for up to an hour per visit.

Who It’s For

Home Care is for those who cannot be left alone and need assistance with activities of daily living. Home Care services include everything from sitter service for companionship to personal care for those who require assistance with all forms for activities of daily living. Pricing may vary according to the specific nature of the services provided.

When skilled care is needed, such as after an illness, hospitalization or rehab, Home Health Care can provide skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy in your home. These services when ordered by a physician are covered 100% under Medicare and many Medicare Supplements. Other private insurances usually have some degree of coverage for these services within their policy as well.
